Rathmullan Pier was officially reopened on Friday evening following a major €4.5 million refurbishment.
Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue, was in the north Donegal village to cut the ribbon.
“I am delighted to officially reopen Rathmullan Pier following major refurbishment works that saw an overall investment of €4.5m,” he said.
“I have no doubt that this is a project that will reap dividends for many years to come and the quality of the work will ensure that it stands the test of time. Last evening’s official opening was a great occasion for the local community, and I look forward to the pier being enjoyed by many.”
Contractors Cunningham Civil and Marine carried out the works which involved essential safety upgrades including the repair of the concrete uprights, replacement of beams and decks and new ducting.
