An investigation is underway after tools were stolen from a builder’s yard at Speenogue, Burt.

The thefts are believed to have occurred between 6.30pm on Tuesday the 27th of May and 8am on Wednesday the 28th of May.

Gardaí say that a number of padlocks on the doors of shipping containers within the yard were broken in order to gain entry.

The items that were stolen were a metal chop saw (110V), a roll of 4 inch, 6 inch and 12 inch lead, a 9 inch Hitachi angle grinder (110V), a red heavy duty ‘Alti’ power drill with a 2 pronged plug (240V), a 4 inch Hitachi angle grinder (110V), two 4 inch Bosch angle grinders and 3 yellow 110V transformers.

A garda spokesperson issued this appeal: “We ask anyone with relevant information to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111. Should anyone come across these types of tools for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí.”
