Dunfanaghy Golf Club Notes:

Dunfanaghy’s new-look Junior team faced a strong Strabane side on Sunday and delivered an excellent performance to progress to Round 3 of the Peter O’Hara Trophy competition.

Away from home, new recruit Paddy Flanaghan got Dunfanaghy off to a great start, securing the first point with a rock-solid win on the 16th. Jack Robinson followed with a gritty victory on the 18th after an epic battle.

Back at home, Danny McColgan delivered a commanding 4 & 3 win, while Cormac Gill, in excellent form in Strabane, sealed the overall match with a brilliant up-and-down on the 16th to win 3 & 2. Both Ultan McGroarty and Ryan Quinn were in strong positions when their matches were called in.

A huge well done to all the lads, who continue to put Dunfanaghy back on the golfing map.

A big thank you as well to Paul McGranaghan and the Strabane team for their warm hospitality and for the great spirit in which the match was played — a real credit to their club.

Next stop: Royal Portrush!!
