Letterkenny’s Mark English has become the first Irishman to break 1:44 in the 800m, breaking his own record set just 11 days ago.

The Finn Valley AC athlete reached 1.43.92 tonight at the FBK Games in the Netherlands.

On 30th May, he celebrated a record-breaking time of 1:44.34 at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Tonight’s victory is another show of incredible form from English, who races again on Thursday night at the Oslo Diamond League.
