Security ramped up after vandalism at Kilmacrennan pitch

Kilmacrennan Celtic FC has installed extra security measures after several incidents of vandalism at the Leitir Pitch.

The pitch was closed for maintenance last week after incidents were reported at the new pitch and along the walkway between the village and the astropitch.

As a result, new cameras have been installed to monitor the area.

In a statement, the club said: “The Kilmac Community Development Group and the club have invested significant time and effort into developing this facility for the benefit of all. It’s disheartening to see behaviour that undermines this shared space.

“If you have witnessed any inappropriate or concerning activity, please contact us. We will ensure the information is passed on to the Gardaí.

“Please note that the new pitch is designated for official club activities only. *Casual use such as kickabouts or jogging within the fenced area is not permitted.*”
