An elderly couple and two drivers have been taken to hospital following a crash in Buncrana this Tuesday afternoon.
The man and woman, both aged in their 70s, were walking when they were struck by a car at approximately 11:55am on the town’s Main Street at a junction close to the local AIB bank.
The couple, the driver of the car, and the driver of another vehicle nearby (a woman in her 70s) have been taken to hospital as a precaution. None of the injuries have been described as life-threatening.
The road has been closed as Gardai begin an investigation into the cause of the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 11:45am and 12:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
