It was a highly competitive Sunday Open with excellent scoring and a close finish among the top contenders. Robert T. J. Brown took the title of overall winner.

He returned a strong score of 42 points off a handicap of 20. Robert’s birdie on the par-three 5th hole was essential in his march to victory!

Trevor Hay secured overall runner-up with 41 points off a handicap of 18, edging out the gross prize winner with Michael Collum, into 3rd place. Collum’s round included a spectacular ending with a birdie-birdie finish – another fine score from the in-form golfer at Barnhill.

McGinley Motors Saturday Open

Another exciting Saturday Open, sponsored by McGinley Motors, saw Shane Scanlan pip Paddy Doherty to claim the title!

Shane Scanlan emerged as the Overall Winner with a total of 41 points, playing off a handicap of 5. Shane played the back nine one under par, brilliant shooting, Shane!

Paddy Doherty claimed Overall Runner-Up, also with 41 points, off a handicap of 16. His consistent round just narrowly missed out on first place after the break-of-tie.

Conor Varley took Overall 3rd with a strong return of 40 points, playing off a handicap of 11, rounding out a tightly bunched leaderboard.

Congratulations to the winners and sincere thanks to McGinley Motors for their continued support of this event and our golf club.

Michael McGeady Open

A highly competitive Wednesday Open, generously sponsored by Michael McGeady PGA, took place at Letterkenny Golf Club last week, with excellent scoring across the board.

Jack Harkin emerged as the overall winner with a superb 45 points. Hot on his heels was Paddy Sheils, who claimed overall Runner-Up with an impressive 43 points, capped off with a wonderful birdie on the par three 5th hole! Kenny King completed the podium by taking overall 3rd with 42 points. Excellent scoring, Kenny.

A final word goes to Darragh McMenamin, who shot another sub-par round, two under this time, to collect an emphatic victory in the gross section! Congratulations to all the prize winners, and a big thank you to our sponsor, Michael McGeady PGA, for supporting the event.
