From Rory to Bridie, Donegal has its fair share of legendary people with the Gallagher name.
A new episode of TG4’s Sloinne will be taking a deep dive into the Ó Gallachóir/Gallagher clan this Sunday, sharing fascinating stories of local people who achieved great things.
In the final episode of the series on Sunday the 22nd of June, camera head to Donegal where guest John Gallagher, a lecturer in Leeds UK, travels from Dublin to his father’s homestead in Gaoth Dobhair. On the journey, he stops off at the Rory Gallagher museum in Ballyshannon. He also looks at the sporting life of Dave Gallagher, the All-Blacks rugby player from Ramelton, Bridie Gallagher’s home in Creeslough famous for the ‘Hills of Donegal’ and The Sporting Gallaghers’ family home leaving no stone unturned in his father’s home county.
