A St Johnston woman who became involved in an altercation with a number of men after going for drinks the day before going on holidays has appeared in court.

Olive Coyle, 55, appeared before Letterkenny District Court following the incident at Lower Main Street in Letterkenny on May 17th last.

Sergeant Jim Collins said Gardai found Ms Coyle in an altercation with a number of males and she was drunk.

The court heard she was pushing the males and had to be retrained and was eventually arrested.

Ms Coyle, of Transallagh, St Johnston was apologetic when she sobered up.

The accused woman’s solicitor, Mr Jason Lafferty, said his client had no previous convictions.

He explained she was going on holidays and had gone socialising and had consumed too much alcohol.

He said she understood her behaviour on the night was unacceptable and should not have happened.

Judge Ciaran Liddy ordered Ms Coyle to pay a donation of €200 to Letterkenny Tidy Towns.
