A total of €53,100 has been approved for projects on the small islands off Donegal.

The announcement, by Minister Dara Calleary, has been welcomed by Deputy Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher.

Of the overall figure, €39,600 will go towards the provision of Island Pier solar lights at Iniskerragh, Inismean, Inis Oirthear and Gola Islands.

Meanwhile, €13,500 has been provided to carry out repairs to the Slipway at Lower Cruit to facilitate access to Owey Island.

Deputy Gallagher has thanked Minister Calleary for the interest he has shown in Donegal since his appointment and hopes that it will not be too long until he takes the opportunity to visit the Donegal Gaeltacht.
