A 24-year-old man has been charged with drink driving in relation to a crash in the centre of Muff village earlier this month.
The collision occurred on Main Street, Muff, on the evening of Friday, June 6, when one man was injured and had to be hospitalised.
Emergency services attended the scene and Gardai closed the main R238 road for several hours to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Dean Lynch, of Aught, Ture, Muff, has been charged with drink driving in connection with the incident.
The case came before Carndonagh District Court, where evidence of his arrest, charge and caution was tendered by Garda Sergeant Emmet Brady.
Mr Lynch is being represented by solicitor Ciaran MacLochlainn, who was granted Legal Aid.
Mr MacLochlainn sought, and was granted, an adjournment in the matter.
“It’s the first time on the list and I’m seeking a statements order,” he explained to District Court Judge Ciaran Liddy.
Judge Liddy adjourned the case against the young Muff man until October 21 next.
