The Donegal Ladies’ footballers have been knocked out of the All-Ireland Championship.
They were defeated by Tipperary in this afternoon’s qualifier by 0-11 to 1-06, after being handed a difficult tie away from home.
It marks a tough end to a season in which Donegal had reached the Ulster Final before defeat to Armagh.
Tipperary notched the first four scores of the contest without reply, before Suzanne White knocked over two frees in quick succession.
Another Donegal point from Blaithnaid McLaughlin did little to slow the Tipp momentum however, as they entered the half-time interval up 0-08 to 0-03.
Donegal rallied in the second half, led by the scoring efforts of Jodie McFadden.
She notched up a goal and two points in the space of just five minutes, closing the gap between the sides to just one point with ten minutes to spare.
However Donegal couldn’t find another score down the stretch, and a late Tipperary free sealed their exit from this year’s All-Ireland.
