National: Man (60s) killed after being struck by tractor

A man aged in his 60s has been killed after being struck by a tractor in County Clare.

Gardaí say the incident took place near Sixmilebridge, at approximately 10:15am this morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, which has been sealed off for a technical examination.

His body has been transferred to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take place in due course.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
