Callum Devine and Noel O’Sullivan reign supreme after another triumph in the Wilton Donegal International Rally.
A thrilling final run through Fanad Head cinched the win for the Derry/Killarney pairing, who steered their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 to victory in a dominant leg.
Heading into the final day with a 20 second buffer, Devine delivered an impressive second pass through Fanad to finish in 10 minutes, 21.9 seconds
20.5 seconds was the difference between the victors and Welshman Meirion Evans and Kerry co-driver Ger Conway who once again finished as runners-up in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, repeating their result from last year.
On the podium in third are David Kelly and Arthur Kierans.
Jon Armstrong from Kesh and Bruckless native Shane Byrne’s rally came to an end at Fanad, despite a strong push on Atlantic Drive in their M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2.
With this triumph, Devine and O’Sullivan join a prestigious group of triple Donegal winners that includes the late Manus Kelly, Bertie Fisher, Billy Coleman, and Andrew Nesbitt, with Nesbitt still holding the all-time record with six overall victories.
The finish ramp is ready and waiting at the Mount Errigal this evening where the winners will make their return.
Spectator parking for the closing ceremony will be available from 3pm Sunday on the Neill T Blaney Road, opposite the Letterkenny Public Services Centre.
