A young man who was abusive to door staff and Gardai outside a Letterkenny nightclub during ‘rally weekend’ has been ordered to make a charitable donation.
Christopher Cremin appeared at Letterkenny District Court charged with being intoxicated and using threatening and abusive language.
It follows an incident at the Pulse Nightclub in Letterkenny on Sunday, June 22nd.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that Cremin, aged 27, was drunk and began to abuse Gardai and door staff who tried to defuse a situation at 1.05am in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The court was told that Cremin, of Ballyhesta, Carrignavar, Co Cork, has no previous convictions of any relevance.
His solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, said his client was a very educated young man who was still in college.
He said the incident was completely out of character for him and had stayed up in Donegal to appear in court and answer the charges.
Judge Eiteain Cunningham ordered Cremin to pay €250 to the Little Blues Heroes charity and she would strike out the matter.
