Raymond is “outstanding in his own field” after stunning rally gesture

Kilmacrennan man Raymond Burns has certainly gone up several gears in the estimation of rally legend Rory Kennedy.

Last weekend saw Raymond watch on as people struggled to get parking during the Lough Keel stage of the rally.

But instead of just watching on Raymond decided to open one of his fields and accommodate more than 500 cars on his land – completely free of charge.

The stunning gesture didn’t go unnoticed by many including Letterkenny’s own navigator supreme Rory Kennedy.

Outstanding in his own field! Raymond and Rory at the Lough Keel stage of the rally.

Rory posted on Facebook “Donegal hospitality at its best, fair play to this very decent man Raymond Burns from Kilmacrennan who opened up his fields to park up to 500 cars on the Lough Keel stage today and not ask for one penny in return.

“It’s people like Raymond who make Donegal such a welcoming special place, huge thanks from everyone Raymond …
Donegal has it all.”

Take a bow, Raymond.
