Night-time works mark start of Lurgybrack road upgrade

Work has begun on a €1.7million resurfacing project for the N13 Lurgybrack-Listillion road in Letterkenny.

The project will start with night-time works to avoid traffic disruption.

Staff will be on the ground for approximately 10 weeks to complete the 3.4km stretch of road, starting at Dry Arch Roundabout, and continuing past the Convoy/Listillion junction toward Dooballagh.

To aid traffic disruption during peak times, Donegal County Council has confirmed that works between Dry Arch Roundabout and (L1114) Leck Road junction are programmed for completion during night-time hours, with the remaining works programmed for completion during restricted daily working hours.

The proposed works will involve verge clearance, drainage, cold milling, installation of a surface course, road markings and road studs.

A notice said: “Various traffic management arrangements will be in place onsite for the duration of the works including stop/go operations. Traffic disruption will be managed as far as is reasonably practicable, but road users should expect some delays and allow additional time to travel safely through the works site.”
