Members of the public are invited to attend next Monday’s presentation of the 28th North West 10k Charity Run and Walk cheques.

The event will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel at 7pm.

The two benefitting charities this year are Donegal Horizons and Multiple Sclerosis Ireland Donegal Branch. An open invitation to the cheque presentations has been extended by the committee to the public along with past committee members and other charities that have been involved down the years.

Currently, close to €984,000 has been raised over the previous 27 years for 40 charities. The aim in 2025 is to break the €1 million mark and that figure will be confirmed on Monday evening by North West 10k Chairperson, Neil Martin.

“So many people have played a part in the North West 10k over the years so we are extending an open invitation to come along on Monday evening for the cheque presentations,” Mr Martin said.

“It all began in 1997 under Charlie Kelly who was Chairperson at the time and is now our Honorary President. Donegal Horizons CLG and Multiple Sclerosis Ireland Donegal Branch have put their shoulder to the wheel in terms of fundraising initiatives this year so they fully deserve the financial rewards that will come their way on Monday evening”.
