Daniel dreading playing Killarney if Kerry win Sam Maguire

Singer and GAA fan Daniel O’Donnell has said he is dreading performing in Kerry later this year if his native Donegal don’t win the All-Ireland.

The world-famous singer is due to play three shows in the Gleneagle Arena in Killarney at the end of August.

But Daniel has said he is hoping that Jim McGuinness’ Donegal team will have captured the Sam Maguire trophy by that stage.

Daniel told his millions of fans around the world that there has been great excitement in his native county as they go in search of a third All-Ireland final.

But he admits that he’ll be in trouble in Kerry if Donegal don’t do the business and take home the famous cup back to the hills of Donegal.

He said “We’re looking forward to coming to Kerry and we’re hoping that Sam Maguire will be living in Donegal.

“For those of you who are not from Ireland and not familiar with Sam Maguire, it’s a trophy for the All-Ireland football championship.

“Donegal are still in there and thanks to Jim and everyone on the team and everyone behind the scenes for a great summer. You have given us great entertainment. We meet Monaghan next week and that will be no walk in the park.

“Please God we’ll make it all the way to the final and take Sam back to Donegal but whatever the case we are very grateful t Jim and everybody for the great entertainment all summer.

“I’ll get some rumble if I go to Kerry and Sam Maguire is in Kerry by then or maybe some other county. Anyway it’s great excitement here all year to see who will be the All-Ireland champions.”
