Disqualified Letterkenny motorist arrested for alleged drink driving

Members of the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit seized a car from an uninsured and disqualified driver last night.

Gardaí received reports overnight from the public in relation to a vehicle that was approaching Letterkenny and being driven in an extremely dangerous manner.

Members of the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit stopped the vehicle concerned and then arrested the driver on suspicion of drink driving. The driver was already disqualified from driving and had no insurance. The car was seized and court proceedings will follow.

“We would like to sincerely thank the members of the public who reported the matter to us. It is important that we continue to work together to make our roads safer,” a garda spokesperson said.
