Lough Swilly RNLI was tasked by Malin Head Coast Guard at 12.19 pm today to assist a lone fisherman whose small craft had developed engine trouble.

The Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat was quickly launched and was on the scene within minutes. The crew established a tow and took the boat to the safety of Rathmullan Pier.

The volunteer team returned to Ned’s Point, refuelled and made ready for service.

Remember if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
