It’s been a special week for Donegal GAA star Ryan McHugh, who has welcomed a beautiful baby boy with his wife Bridget!
Baby Senán McHugh was born on Monday, just a day after Donegal defeated Louth to secure their quarter-final fixture in Croke Park.
Announcing their good news, Kilcar native McHugh shared a message of thanks to the staff of Letterkenny University Hospital for the “wonderful care” they took of Bridget and Senán over the past week”.
“Thankfully everyone is doing good and back home,” he said, posting an adorable photo of their son on Instagram.

Despite the busy week and the tight turnaround for the quarter-final match, parenthood isn’t slowing McHugh one bit. He’s confirmed to be back in play tomorrow as part of Jim McGuinness’ starting XV against Monaghan at Croke Park.
Ryan and Ardara woman Bridget (Molloy), who married in 2023, run the McBrew cafe together in Donegal Town alongside their own careers.
Congratulations to the McHugh family on your new arrival!
