Members of the Lough Swilly RNLI crew were deployed this afternoon after two teenagers got into difficulty off of Lisfannon.
The alarm was raised just after 1pm this afternoon by a member of the public who spotted the teens in trouble while paddleboarding just off the coast.
Members were tasked to the scene by the Malin Head Coastguard Centre, but luckily were stood down not long after as the two teens had managed to safely make it back to shore.
The Lough Swilly RNLI have thanked the member of the public who made the emergency call, and are urging the public to always contact the emergency services in similar situations.
“Remember if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard,” they said.
