North-west native Mona McSharry is in fine form ahead of the Aquatics World Championships next month.
The Ballyshannon Marlins member and Olympic bronze medallist will be aiming to add to her international plaudits when the Worlds get underway in Singapore on July 27th.
Her preparation is certainly going well based on this week’s results at the Sette Colli meeting in Rome.
The Grange native has racked up two silver medals in the tune-up event in the span of a few days in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke.
She finished closely behind Welsh swimmer Angharad Evans in both races, but will surely be pleased with some fine preparation ahead of leading the Irish charge in South-East Asia.
