The Henry Girls open Sunday at Glastonbury festival

Donegal musical trio The Henry Girls have again stepped into the international spotlight, this time at the famed Glastonbury festival in England.

They took to the Acoustic Stage this afternoon to kick off Sunday’s run of acts at 1pm.

It marked the first time that the Inishowen trio have performed at the festival since 2014.

However their massive Glastonbury appearance is only the beginning of a packed Summer schedule for sisters Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin.

They will be playing a full slate of gigs across the Summer, including seven festivals in Britain and Ireland – and the Earagail Arts Festival here in Donegal in July.

That’s on top of a tour of the east coast of the USA at the end of July and the start of August, with the girls playing nine shows in New York, Pennsylvania, Maine and Massachusetts.
