Councillor Patrick McGowan has welcomed the completion of the refurbishment of Killygordon Playground.

The facility, at Dromore, has been closed since the end of April, however, should re-open to the public tomorrow afternoon.

The works included the enlarging of the space, the installation of new and accessible equipment, new fence and a complete new rubber surface.

Cllr McGowan took the opportunity to thank Donegal County Council for funding this upgrade. He also praised local community group Crossroads and Killygordon Enterprise (CAKE).

“I would like to thank all the staff who helped get it done, in particular, John Deeney who is in charge of playgrounds,” Cllr McGowan said.

The local contractor was Creative Landscaping Works Ltd
