Liverpool FC star Diogo Jota has died in a car crash near Zamora, in northwestern Spain.

The Portuguese international made 182 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 65 goals between 2020 and 2025.

He signed for Liverpool in 2020 after a three-year spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He only married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso only last month, and the couple had three children together.

The 28-year-old’s younger brother Andre Silva, who played for Portuguese club Penafiel, also died in the accident.
