Gardaí in Buncrana say they’ve seized the car of a driver who had no up-to-date documentation and a defective vehicle.

The seizure was made by members of the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit yesterday evening.

They say that the driver had no tax or insurance for their car, and it also did not have a valid NCT.

After a roadside inspection the car was seized as Gardaí also suspected that it may have been defective, with severe corrosion spotted on its brakes.

A court appearance is also in the books for the driver as a result of the numerous offences.

Gardaí have again appealled to road users to have their documentation in order and to keep their vehicles in good working order at all times.

“You should always ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition before setting off on your journey and do not drive if your documentation is not in order,” they said via social media.
