A young Donegal father has lost his life after being struck by a car in the US in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is in his mid-thirties and from the east of the county, passed away shortly after the incident which occurred in California at around 12:45 am local time (7:45 am Irish time).
He is a married man with two young children and has been living in the US for a number of years.
His family in Donegal, who are highly respected throughout the county and beyond, have been informed of his death.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has been contacted for a comment.
