Donegal has its dog for the 2025 Nose of Tralee competition.
After a ruff selection process including over 1,500 entries, the 32 finest pups have been chosen ahead of the public vote which opens on the 24th of July.
Ghost is a one-year-old Border Collie Mix who was initially rescued as a puppy by Clare Animal Welfare. His personality is as large as his big fluffy tail, even if he is still a wee bit shy at times.

Ghost, who will be hoping to spook the competition in this year’s Nose of Tralee!
Described by his owners as “the sweetest boy,” Ghost has also bonded well with his big brother Casper since joining his family.
His owners explained as part of his entry that Ghost has truly been an astonishing addition to their lives.
“Ghost joining our family has helped Casper gain so much confidence and helped him overcome and improve some of his reactive challenges. Ghost is more than just a handsome pup – he’s proof that rescue dogs can change lives.”
The 2025 Nose of Tralee winner will be crowned on the 19th August, following a nationwide vote to determine who will take home the title.
The winner will receive a hotel stay, a photo shoot, pet sitting vouchers & a range of gifts from small Irish Pet Brands.
