Councillor Patrick McGowan has welcomed the allocation of €591,000 for ‘patching’ repair work on the N15 in east Donegal.
He said the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) funding was for a stretch of the busy national road in the Finn Valley, including Ballybofey and Stranorlar main streets and Castlefinn.
“While this is for patching repair work, it is nevertheless urgently needed until these roads receive proper attention,” Cllr McGowan said.
“This is welcome news, given the difficulty in maintaining the N15.”
Last month, Donegal Daily reported the main street through the Twin Towns may not be resurfaced until sometime in 2027.
The road through Ballybofey and Stranorlar is currently in a poor state, with potholes appearing in a number of areas.
