An investigation is underway after a driver fled the scene of a crash in Muff two weeks ago.

The incident occurred on the R239 at Sappagh, Muff on Tuesday the 24th of June at approx. 7.38pm.

A white Audi and a blue Volvo Jeep, bearing Northern Irish registration plates, were both travelling from Burnfoot towards Muff when the crash happened. The driver of the Volvo immediately left the scene, heading back in the direction of Burnfoot.

The driver of the white Audi was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Donegal gardaí have issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.

Should anyone have travelled along that stretch of road between 7.15pm and 8pm on that date with a dash-cam, they are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
