The volunteer crew at Lough Swilly Lifeboat was tasked to assist a yacht last night.
At 10pm, they were alerted by Malin Head Coast Guard to assist two people onboard the vessel that had got into difficulty on the lough.
The Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat was quickly launched, and the crew made their way to the vessel. When they arrived on scene, the yacht was again under way. The decision was made to anchor just past Fahan Marina until the tide began to rise and it was safe to enter the Marina.
The volunteer crew returned to Ned’s Point, refuelled and made ready for service.
Remember if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112, and ask for the Coast Guard.
