Finn Harps came out second best against a talented young UCD side at the UCD Bowl in Dublin.
Adam Brennan opened the students’ account in the 16th minute but Harps defender Conor Tourish levelled matters just five minutes later to make it 1-1.
Kevin McHugh’s side were hit with a sucker punch in extra time of the first half when Mikey McCullagh grabbed a second to put them 2-1 in front.
And when the students were awarded a penalty in the 50th minute, Michael Raggett made no mistake from the spot to make it 3-1.
