Today’s All-Ireland Semi-Final is a huge occasion, but especially so for Meath’s Cian McBride.
The midfielder has huge family ties to Donegal through his father, John, who is from Downings.
Despite that, he will be looking to play spoiler from the subs’ bench as the two counties clash at Croke Park this afternoon.
The occasion also marks a special landmark for McBride, who travelled to Australia to chase an AFL dream before returning to Ireland, and the GAA, in 2024.
Before today’s big game Cian got together with his dad, John and his uncle, Ben, to grab a special photo together before the occasion.
However no matter how strong his ties to Donegal may be, Cian has certainly chosen his side in today’s battle of the green and gold!
