The public are being advised of traffic and parking restrictions in parts of Letterkenny today ahead of two graveyard services in the town this afternoon.

A service is being held at the Old Leck graveyard at 3pm, followed by a service at New Leck graveyard at 4pm.

Gardaí have issued advice for all those attending the services or who may be travelling in the area.

They are asking that all fit and able-bodied people who plan to attend the services walk to them.

For anyone who has to drive, Gardaí will be implementing a one-way traffic system along the Leck Road and towards Cullion Crossyards.

All vehicular traffic approaching Leck graveyard from Cullion Crossroads will be requested to turn for home before parking and face back towardsthe  Cullion Crossroads.

All vehicular traffic approaching Leck graveyard from the Oldtown direction and parking along Leck Road, past Lismonaghan Hill Junction are also requested to park facing in the direction of Cullion Crossroads.

Drivers are being asked not to park in graveyard gateways in the event of an ambulance needing access to the graveyard.

Disabled parking will be available in the graveyard also.

When exiting the graveyard, a left turn towards Cullion Crossroads only will be permitted.

Gardaí have said that due to the large numbers expected at the services, they are asking all planning to attend to leave in good time ahead of the services.
