Busy Twin Town’s bridge to close for two days this week

A busy bridge used by motorists to dodge the Twin Towns traffic will be closed for two days this week.

The narrow 114 year-old Logue’s Bridge spans the River Finn between Drumboe and the Glenfin Road.

Local Councillor, Martin Scanlon, confirmed it will be shut from tomorrow (Wednesday) until Friday to facilitate structural survey works.

Height and weight restrictions have been placed on the structure in recent years over safety concerns.

Earlier this year, local councillors expressed fears that the bridge would be closed permanently if the required works weren’t carried out.
