Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly assaulted by three others in Letterkenny in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The incident occurred at Lower Main Street between 3.10am and 3.15am. One man was assaulted by three males outside a takeaway at that location. He was subsequently taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening in nature.
CCTV has been sought and viewed from the area and it has been established that one of the males involved was wearing a black t-shirt with a crest on it, beige shorts, black runners and black socks. Another was wearing a blue long sleeved shirt, denim jeans and white runners and the third male was wearing a black t-shirt, dark denim jeans and brown shoes. Following the incident, two of the males left on foot down Lower Main Street and the third male left in the direction of the Oliver Plunkett road.
“From the CCTV we have ascertained that a number of people were present in the area during the incident and we are asking them to come forward and speak to us if they witnessed the incident or if they can assist with relevant information,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.
“We also appeal to anyone who may have travelled at Lower Main Street or in the area of the Oliver Plunkett Road between 3am and 3.30am with a dash-cam, to make the footage available to us.”
