A star-studded romance movie filmed in Donegal will be coming to the big screen this weekend.

From Friday, Donegal cinemas will be screening ‘Four Letters of Love’, starring Pierce Brosnan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Gabriel Byrne.

Directed by Polly Steele, the drama was filmed in Donegal and Antrim last year with funding from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, with the support of WRAP (the Western Region Audiovisual Producers’ Fund), and Northern Ireland Screen.

Glenveagh National Park, Dunfanaghy beach, Dunlewey and Doochary all enjoyed some Hollywood action in March 2023 as filming took place across breathtaking Donegal locations.

The film is based on Niall Williams’ bestselling novel and also sees starring roles for young Irish actors Fionn O’Shea and Ann Skelly.

Four Letters of Love

“Nicholas (Fionn O’Shea) and Isabel (Ann Skelly) were made for each other but how will they ever know it?,” the synopsis of the film reads.

“As ghosts, fate and the sheer power of true love pull them together, so too does life threaten to tear them apart.”

“The young lovers embark on their own individual journeys of heartache and misplaced love, before fate contrives to pull the threads of their lives together. When they meet, it is a miracle.”
