Donegal boxer Matthew McCole has been chosen to represent Team Ireland at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool.
The Dungloe boxer will take part in the championships which run from the 4th-14th of September.
Matthew will be boxing for the 70kg title.
As you are aware, Matthew is currently undertaking a PhD in ATU Donegal which requires immense dedication in itself never mind reaching such heights in the sporting world.
The Illies Golden Globes bxer is currently travelling to Dublin each week and returning home at the weekends.
McCole defeated Eugene McKeever at the Girdwood Community Hub in Belfast in June to win the Irish Elite light-middleweight title.
