A Milford man has pleaded guilty to charges of falsely imprisoning a woman and drug dealing.

Brian McLoughlin was before Letterkenny Circuit Court.

The 32-year-old, of McGettigan’s Flats, Main Street, Milford was arraigned before Judge Roderick Maguire.

McLoughlin pleaded guilty to the false imprisonment of a woman at his address on February 22, 2022. The charge is contrary to section 15 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against The Person Act, 1997.

He also tendered a guilty plea to a charge of possessing a controlled drug, namely amphetamine, for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying another.

McLoughlin’s barrister, Mr Peter Nolan BL, asked that a probation and welfare report would be required in the matter.

Judge Maguire agreed and put the matter back to October for sentencing.
