Sheephaven Sub Aqua Club members will be taking on their annual swim-fin from Burtonport to Arranmore this Saturday the 17th July.

The club is delighted to be joined by the Rosses Snorkellers for the event.

This is a sponsored event which raises funds for the club’s Search and Recovery service.

Donations can be made via any club members or online at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/sheephaven-subaqua-club-search-recovery

Sheephaven SAC Club Notes:

On Saturday, Sheephaven SAC successfully hosted the Diver 3 Star Module 3 course. All three regional candidates have already completed the course and exam components of Module 1 and are now progressing through the many elements required for Modules 2 and 3. With a busy summer ahead, their dedication is clear.

The club and region extend sincere thanks to the instructors who devoted their time and expertise during the full-day workshop—especially on one of the warmest days of the year. Special thanks to Pat McElroy (Rosses Snorkellers), Timmy Boyle, JohnJoe Rowland, and Anne Boyle (Sheephaven) for their support and guidance.

A special mention goes to Brendan McColgan, who travelled from Inishowen to assist with the course. By contributing to this workshop, Brendan moves one step closer to achieving his Moniteur 2 instructor qualification—a significant milestone for both Inishowen SAC and the broader diving community in the Northern Region.  Well done to all involved!

Sunday saw club members meeting at Magheragallon where they caught a ferry to Gola Island to undertake their weekly snorkel and dive activities. The scorching sun and crystal waters gave tropical island vibes with the warm seas playing host to a mesmerizing array of jellyfish species including Mauvre Stingers and a Lion’s Mane.
