Get ready for a week of family fun at the 49th annual Burtonport Summer Festival! From 18th – 26th July, the festival will transform the town into a hub of music, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
This year’s festival will be officially opened by Anne Kelly on Saturday 19th July, followed by music from the Minertones Band.
Nightly music on the big stage and the daily Busking Corners are among the highlights of the week, with performances by Glór Tíre winner Paddy Treacy, The Hopeful Kind, Bula Béag, Chrissy Mac, Springsteen a tribute, and a Ceili Mór!
The Sunday afternoon country show from 3pm will be a free outdoor concert where Conor O’Donnell and The Ryan Turner band will host Patrick Feeney, Hugo Duncan, Saffron Dixon and Jordon Mc Polin!
For the Younger Ones and Families
Children will love the Children’s Disco and Festival Prince and Princess event. There’s also an exciting Underage Football Blitz and the adorable Bonny Baby Show. Families can spend a fun day at the Children’s Beach Day, meet furry friends at the Pet Show, and enjoy daily sea safaris and island trips. Don’t miss the unique Astronauts and Aliens adventure on Rutland Island and the lively Festival Parade. For some competitive fun, join in the “It’s A Knockout” obstacle games happening on several evenings.
Active and Adventurous Events
Get your running shoes on for the 5K Road Race or test your speed in the 10K Cycle Time Trial. Football fans won’t want to miss the Pat Forker Memorial Match between Keadue Rovers and Finn Harps FC.
Culture and Heritage
Immerse yourself in local history with guided historical walks and hop aboard the Magical Mystery History Bus Tour. Experience a full Irish Language Day featuring children’s shows, traditional music, and dance.
Traditional Festival Events
The festival includes the annual Blessing of the Boats, a cherished tradition.
The week also offers a scavenger hunt, walking treasure hunt, daily 50/50 bingo draws, and a Thank You Tea at Gemma’s Legacy of Hope House on Saturday 26th July.
