Wildlife lovers have only a few more weeks to spot some puffins on the coast of Tory Island this year.

The puffins have brought their charismatic charm to the island’s cliffs for the last few months – however they will soon be set for their annual migration south.

There is still a large contingent of puffins on the island, but by the end of July and the start of August they are expected to start their migration – with the birds not expected to return to land until next spring.

Elsewhere, there will be some special celebrations on Inishboffin Island next weekend!

On Saturday, July 26th there will be a community art exhibition as well as a céilí being held in the island’s local community hall.

A ferry service will be running from Magheroarty Pier to ensure anyone interested can join in and take part.
