Mark English has continued his strong string of recent results with a good performance at today’s Diamond League meet in London.
English has broken his own Irish 800m record several times this year, the most recent when he won the 800m at the FBK Games back in June.
He was part of a 800m field packed to the brim with Olympic talent as the Diamond League headed to London’s Olympic Park this afternoon.
English ran a strong race, and finished in seventh with a time of 1:44.07 – within less than two tenths of his personal best and the Irish record.
For English, all preparations will lead to the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September – where based on current form, he might just have an outside chance at bringing home a medal.
