Gardaí have arrested a man aged in his 40s after the discovery and seizure of a large quantity of herbal cannabis.
The seizure was made as part of a joint operation between An Garda Siochana and the Customs Service.
A van was stopped in the village of Ballycarney in County Wexford, with Gardaí saying approximately 80kg of cannabis was discovered within it.
The drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for fruther forensic analysis.
The man was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. and taken to a Garda station in the east of the country.
He may be questioned by Gardaí for up to seven days in relation to the matter.
