Donegal athlete Erin Friel has claimed a place in the final of the 400m at the European Youth Olympic Festival.
The 17-year-old is competing against the best in Europe at the championships being held in Macedonia.
But that didn’t deter the talented Letterkenny AC athlete who blew away the field to win the third heat at the Toše Proeski Arena in Skopje in a time of 54.68 seconds.
Her school, Loreto in Letterkenny, were amongst the first to congratulate her on making the final.
The Newtowncunningham teenager will line up for the final which takes place tomorrow morning.
Erin si also expected to run in the medley relay later in the week.
