Donegal County Council has been urged to consider maintenance works after at least five falls on a section of footpath in Castlefin this year.
Damaged tiles on the path outside the Spar shop and Post Office pose a hazard to pedestrians, the council was told.
Councillor Martin Scanlon brought the issue to this month’s Lifford-Stranorlar MD meeting after reports of another fall.
“The woman was the fifth person that has tripped on the footpath this year, I believe,” said Cllr Scanlon.
Cllr Patrick McGowan said it’s not the first time that the area has been highlighted to the council.
He said the state of the path was “terrible” considering that the post office is frequently visited by pensioners.
