Killybegs student and fiddle player, Éabha McGuinness, will present the fourth episode of the RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta series, Ar Bhruach na Sionainne.

The music and chat show will be presented by students from the University of Limerick and will air tomorrow at 1.30pm on RnaG.

The seven part series showcases traditional music, performed and presented by the students themselves. In each programme, we’ll hear music and songs from a selection of students, and the programme will be presented by a new student each week.

Éabha (19) has been playing the fiddle since she was ten years old. Her music teacher is Kevin O’Donnell. She performs regularly at Cairdeas na bhFidiléirí concerts alongside some of Donegal’s best fiddle players, such as Aidan O Donnell, Ciaran Ó Maonaigh, Martin McGinley, Tara Connaghan and more.

Earlier this year, Éabha performed on RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House programme with friends Anna Howard and Liam Brodrick, who are also students of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.

She is a previous winner of the Donegal Fleadh duets competition with flute player Natasha Moloney and she is looking forward to attending Ulsters.

On Ar Bhruach na Sionainne, Éabha will be accompanied by musicians including fellow Donegal musician Nia Byrne (singing & fiddle) and fiddler Siobhán Peoples, daughter of renowned Donegal fiddler Tommy Peoples. Other guests include: Conor Caldwell (fiddle), Aisling Drost Byrne (fiddle), Peter Fox (flute), Aoibhe Kettle (harp), Emily Greeney (concertina), Anna Howard (concertina), Liam Broderick (guitar), Simon Crehan (guitar), Áine Ferry (singing), Deirdre Scanlan (singing).
