Gardaí are appealing for information following the latest burglary at a water treatment plant near Ballybofey.

The latest incident occurred at the facility at Meencrumlin (Mc Grory’s Brae),  at approximately 1am on Saturday.

Two males wearing hoodies entered the grounds and proceeded to cut the locks off two shipping containers. Nothing is believed to have been stolen during the course of the incident.

Back in September 2023, two valuable industrial generators were stolen from the same plant.

“We appeal to anyone who may have travelled along that route (N15, Ballybofey to Donegal Town road) that morning between midnight and 2am with a dash-cam to make the footage available to us,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.

If anyone can assist with relevant information, they are asked to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071-9858530. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
